Huskerland Dual Teams
Each year the club participates in a cooperative agreement to send dual teams to the Huskerland Duals in Kearney. These dual teams wrestle under the name of Star City Slammers. There are two division for the duals 3rd-5th grades and 6th-8th grades, with set weights in each division.
The date of the duals changes each year but they are usually the second full weekend in March. You can find the current dual information by going to the Huskerland webpage www.huskerland.org
Star City Slammers is set up and run by a cooperative agreement of several non-profit clubs in Lincoln. We set a date for wrestle offs and any wrestler from our club who wants to be on the team must sign up with the club and needs to be at wrestle offs on that night.
Wrestlers who make the dual team will need to attend separate dual teams practices, these practices will be in the Slammers agreement each year.
Participation in wrestle offs and the dual teams is optional, but highly encouraged. This is often on of the better experiences of our young wrestlers have, as the have the opportunity to wrestle in a dual format and meet and interact with many different wrestlers in our community.
Additional Dual Teams
Occasionally we will form a dual team for an event or competition. These teams are usually cooperative with another team and are done on a more informal basis.
